Help support music in schools

Make a Donation

Our aim is to provide affordable and accessible music tuition in primary schools in England. Music might be considered a luxury, but we have seen first-hand the benefits it can have on so many levels - educationally, personally, socially and behaviourally. With the help of generous benefactors, we can bring music into the lives of even more children!

How You Can Help

One-off Donations

A single gift can make a real difference. £25.50 helps cover three music lessons for one child, and every donation supports access to music, whatever the amount.

Online Shopping

Support MfSF as you shop online at no extra cost. By using Give As You Live, participating retailers turn your everyday purchases into donations for our work.

Legacy Donations

Leaving a gift in your will is a meaningful way to support children’s music learning in the future. Many families choose this as a lasting way to share their love of music.

Why Your Donation Matters

As with all charities, we have several costs to bear. Before you decide to donate, you might like to know what they are:

School Assemblies

Pupils build self-belief quickly by making progress, playing with others and performing in school.

Pupil Premium Discount

Pupils eligible for Pupil Premium funding benefit from discounted lessons. This cost is covered by MfSF.

Administration

We provide full admin support to schools and tutors, and we have a great Head Office team that manage all aspects of the scheme.

Extra Activities

We run school bands, ensembles and concerts at no extra cost. Pupils have the opportunity to attend music fundays and take exams too.

"Donations help Music for Schools continue to provide free music assemblies in primary schools. I love getting the children excited about music and all the benefits it brings them. It's the most enjoyable part of my day." - Tony Preece

"Thank you for the lessons Thomas had through MfSF - they have given him a solid foundation in music and I hope, a desire to continue learning for years to come. Without their pupil premium reductions we definately wouldn't have been able to afford this privately!" - Parent of Year 4 pupil

"Learning to play a classical instrument from a young age allowed me the skill to read music and play any genre. I was able to combat stage fright early, happily play in bands both inside and outside of school as a teenager and travel around the world as a performing musician." - Rory
