Ready to get started with music lessons?
You’re in the right place. We’ll guide you through everything you need to know so enrolling feels simple and reassuring.
Our lessons are designed for primary-age children and are taught during the school day in small, friendly groups. Many children are complete beginners when they start and that’s absolutely fine.

Before you enrol, here are a few helpful things to know
You don’t need to have everything figured out already. Most parents explore these details as part of the sign-up process and we’re always here to help if you’re unsure.
1. Is my child the right age for lessons?
Lessons are available for children across KS1 and KS2, with different programmes designed for each age group.
Younger children may begin with Windstars using specially designed starter instruments, while older pupils can learn on full-size brass and woodwind instruments.
2. Choosing an instrument to learn
As part of enrolment, you’ll choose the instrument or programme your child would like to learn.
Children in Windstars can choose the Toot or Dood, while KS2 pupils can choose from a range of brass and woodwind instruments.
We can help guide you through the options so you feel confident in your choice.
3. Instrument and lesson options
Depending on the programme, your child’s instrument and learning materials may already be included, or you may choose to rent or buy an instrument package (or provide your own instrument).
Most families choose one of our recommended options as everything needed to get started is included.
4. Lesson group structure and costs
Lessons are taught in small groups and are suitable for complete beginners.
Programmes are designed to be affordable, accessible and easy for families to manage, with pricing clearly explained during enrolment.
All costs are shown upfront so there are no surprises.
Opportunities to Perform
Many schools invite children to play in assemblies or concerts. These moments often lead to a real boost in confidence and self-belief, with no pressure to perform before a child feels comfortable.
Beyond the Weekly Lessons
Weekly lessons are just the beginning, but nothing is compulsory. As children grow in confidence, they may have the chance to, play in bands or ensembles, take music exams if they wish or join fun activity days with other local children.
