Everything You Need is Included
All-in-one package with no separate costs or complicated choices to make.
Designed for children in Year 1 and Year 2, Windstars introduces music in a way that’s accessible, confidence-building and genuinely fun.
Using specially designed instruments called the Toot and Dood, children can start making real music straight away, without struggling with instruments that are too large or complicated.
Lessons take place in small groups and are led by our experienced, friendly tutors. Sessions include games and engaging activities, so it doesn't feel like learning at all, just fun, musical exploration!
Windstars also offers an affordable way to get started, giving your child the opportunity to learn an instrument without the need to invest in an expensive full-size one.

Pathways to Progression
Windstars is just the beginning of your child’s musical journey.
As your child grows in confidence and skill, they’ll have the opportunity to move on to full-size instruments such as flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet or cornet within the MfSF programme.
Because they’ve already learned the basics, this transition feels natural and exciting rather than daunting. Many children continue their lessons, develop their skills further and work towards music grades over time.

FAQs
Does my child need any experience?
Not at all! Windstars is designed for complete beginners.
What if my child isn’t sure which instrument to choose?
Both options are designed to be accessible and enjoyable.
How do we look after the Toot or Dood?
One of the great things about the Toot and Dood is how easy they are to care for.
Unlike many traditional instruments, they can be cleaned with warm soapy water and are even dishwasher safe (top rack only, without a heated drying cycle). You can also use alcohol wipes or mouthpiece cleaner.
Can my child continue after Windstars?
Yes, they can progress onto full-size instruments within the MfSF programme.
Do we keep the instrument?
Yes, the instrument (Toot or Dood) is yours to keep.
What if lessons start near the end of the school year?
If there is only one lesson before the end of the academic year, your first payment will be in September. This helps ensure you receive the full value of the programme when lessons start properly in the new school year.
